Northville Art House: Member’s Show

One of last year’s barn paintings is taking a ride over to Northville’s Art house for their Member’s Show. We were allowed to enter two paintings, but they had so many artists enter their work that they asked us all to just bring one. I chose the artwork “Barn”, one of my pointillism works from last summer. The exhibit opens this Friday with a reception from 6-9 pm, so that’s where you know Al and I will be! I hope to see some familiar faces there.

It will be offered for sale, as most of my works are. While I enjoy painting and always love my most recent works, they are meant to be enjoyed by others, not just me.  I do have many on display in our home, this one was hanging in our handsome new master bathroom until this morning, and if not sold during the next month, will go back there.  This one and others available can be found on the ‘In the Studio’ page of my website.

P.S.This one did sell at the show, so it is now in a private collection nearby. Pointillism is a difficult technique and not one I enjoy much, so while I do like creating barn paintings, this is one I will not attempt again.

  1. I love this painting…and the new look for your website is really beautiful. It’s warm and inviting and uses my favorite shades.

I’ve never been to the Art House, maybe this Friday will be my turn to come by!

    1. Please do! The opening night reception is always nice, lots of artists mingling, good food and good wine. Al and usually do dinner in town, then head over to either the Art House or Main Street to stroll the galleries. First Fridays in Northville are lots of fun- the galleries and some stores stay open into the evening and serve small snacks and refreshments in their stores.
