French Shops Wall Murals

I have returned from the streets of Paris! What fun to immerse myself in the flavor of the city of lights, the french language, and remember my long ago trip to see the ‘Tour Eiffel’.  I absolutely loved working on these french shops wall murals. I enjoyed the research, the layers of colors, the design, and sending photos around the world  to the condo owner to see as the work progressed. I spent 9 days actually painting this, plus countless hours in research and preparation before driving the 2.5 hours to get to the site. So let’s have a tour of the high rise condo (at least the part I worked on, anyhoo)!

and creating a colorful, fun atmosphere for this lovely couple’s new retirement home.
Pottery by Al
I just had to include this pretty little bowl I left as a small thank-you gift. My favorite potter Al made it, and I think the colors of the glazes are just perfect for anywhere in the home.

Loved this project, had a blast both working and living in the condo for the past couple of weeks- what an experience! Thanks Julie and Doug!

  1. You have such a wonderful talent, imagination and work ethic Ellen. I'm sure the beautiful work you did for Julie and Doug will create a fantastic living environment full of happy memories for them. I bet they can't wait to get home!
That lovely bowl is a perfect gift. I have a special appreciation for handmade pottery. Nicely done Al!

  2. God put everything on this for a purpose. He put the landscapes and natural beauty of this earth to be inspired and appreciated. He gave some of us artistic ability to recreate what he has created in a beautiful and unique way. God is happy when we use our purpose in life and Ellen Leigh has done that. Her inspiration when she visited France was brought to someone’s house in the U.S. The mural she did in that house is such a creative way to turn your attention off the odd shape closet doors and created a colorful and unique kitchen décor . She even made the kitchen look bigger by adding the street, more shops and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The use of perspective is right on making the mural look more realistic. The people living there are lucky to be able to look at that wonderful masterpiece every single day.

  3. What a great job!! I can't believe how much better it looks!! We can't wait to get in there and see it in person!!
That bowl is perfect!! You are just too sweet!!
