Windblown Apple Tree Wall Mural

This week I had the opportunity to paint a gnarly old wind blown apple tree wall mural in a lovely apartment. The lady was an absolute joy to work for, and had the nicest cat that kept me company while I painted. The cat was especially interested in the wrens. I think this apple tree filled in the large blank wall nicely, and brought a bit of the outdoors in.

A close up of the tiny wren perched in the tree. Kitty was soooo interested in these little birds. You can see the soft background color of dusty blue, shadowy windswept branches and the apple blossoms and bus on the branches among the leaves.

The sky is just softly indicated in the background to give the work depth. My client has quite a collection of oriental art and accessories, so the windswept apple tree wall mural is ideal for her decor. It decorates a very long wall in a high traffic area, expanding the space where there is no window.

A full on shot of the whole tree. The hill that the tree grows on trails away around the edges. Petals from the flowers are scattered among the blades of grass, blown by the wind.
