Golf Course Murals ~ A Good Walk, Ruined

The only time I spend on the golf course is when I paint golf course murals. However, I have played putt-putt, does that count? I know that some people really, really love the sport, and this client certainly does.

My client called me to inquire about discussing his ideas for a golf course simulation room at his home. He had a computerized simulator installed in his attached garage and wanted the remaining walls painted with holes of famous golf courses. What an interesting project!

We worked out the details, and he picked a couple of favorite courses with iconic views: St. Andrews in Scotland (the old course, 18th hole), and the 12th hole at Augusta (home of the Master’s Tournament). Beautiful landscapes!

Working on the project was a challenge. Garages are not well insulated spaces. As a result, it was hard to keep it warm enough to paint during January and February of the coldest winter in recent memory. It turned out beautifully, despite the difficult conditions. My client loves it!

I have painted golf course murals a couple of other times in the past. You can find them Here and Here.
