Finishing the Man Cave~ decor ideas

Whew! We finally finished up the decor in the ‘Man Cave’ bathroom. Al likes to take photos of roads along the way in our travels. He has a nice sized collection of them. It was always my intent to display a few of them in his bathroom- it’s just off the bedroom he uses as his office, so it’s totally his space. The old garage and industrial flavor I gave the space suits the photos very well. This past week, I came across a great inexpensive way to display the photos we had had printed in large format at Fine Arts America.

How cool is this? A section of girder from the local hardware cut to length, with magnetic clips to hold the photos.

Industrial ‘framing’

I wouldn’t use this everywhere, and if this were a bathroom subject to a lot of moisture or splashing, I don’t think the prints would hold up well without some sort of protection. If he gets tired of these, he has plenty more that can be printed and hung, and these can always be framed in the traditional way at a later date.

Guys? What do you think? I love it!

P.S. The prints did end up curling a little bit, so I mounted each to black foam core board to make them hang flat. The clips still easily hold the mounted prints, and the black color fits with the decor.
